If Only He Could Tell Us

Yesterday was one of those days when nothing satisfied my son. He didn't want to go on a walk. He didn't want to go on a bike ride. He didn't want me to play with him in his bedroom. He didn't want to watch Word World or Clifford or basketball. All of those are things he's usually excited to do. It wasn't just that though - he was visibly unhappy and "pouty".
What was wrong with him? Why was he malcontent?
Follow up:
When nothing makes him happy the first thing we start thinking is that he's not feeling well. Since it's now the next evening and he's been fine the whole time that doesn't seem to be the answer.
It would be nice if he could talk enough to tell us what's bothering him. Like I said, he's fine now, but we have no clue what was up with him yesterday. I guess sometimes that's just how it goes.
A typical 7-year-old child could speak and tell his parents what was going on. Our boy is not typical. Maybe it was just a stomach ache or something like that. But either way, it's a lot easier to find a solution when you know the problem. We didn't know the problem; we just knew there was one. Since our son cannot speak enough to tell us who he saw at school during the day we knew he wasn't going to tell us what was going on with him. It'll remain a mystery.

i kinda understand what your saying. esmond doesn't talk yet either, but he will only be three in february. when something is bothering him he usually just screams and head bangs something.
it would be so much better if he could use some words to tell us. kudos to word world. our children watch it too and love it.
