How to do Christmas

This year I think we got our son's number. I think we got him gifts that he's really going to enjoy. We got him a few large detailed die-cast cars; I know he'll love those. We also got him a Leapfrog Didj; I'm sure he'll be captivated by it and the games family members are giving him for it. And he'll get other things from us and relatives too. But, this year I don't think we're going to overwhelm him with gift after gift like we've done in the past.
Follow up:

As I've mentioned before, the Didj is geared around education not entertainment. But that's not to say that it's not entertaining. I've said before, "Learning has to be fun." That's a fact Leapfrog knows well.
This year's technique will entail us allowing Braden to open one gift early on Christmas Eve. We'll give him time to play with it and enjoy it. When he appears ready to move on, we'll let him open another gift on Christmas Eve. I'm thinking one or two gifts on Christmas Eve will probably do it, but who knows? IF he's ready for another we'll allow him to open another. I think that's the ticket to a pleasant Christmas 2009.
On Christmas morning we'll let him go at his own pace. If he's still engaged in playing with a gift he opened the night before we won't bother him with unwrapping new gifts. We'll wait till he's ready... kinda space them out over time. That's the ticket.
