color time

good evening all!
i have new progress to report with sir dantes. he is finally wanting to color! in a coloring book!!! this is just fantastic news.
it may seem like a small thing to most people. after all, most children start wanting to color at a very young age, well before the age of three, and they will color on anything from paper to floors to walls. i can remember with ms. maxie the frustration of telling her over and over to only color on the paper. well, with sir dantes i just have been frustrated over the thought he'd never be interested in coloring.
Introducing Autism Epicenter's Mobile Website
By Shane on Apr 17, 2010 | In Announcements | 1 feedback »
These days a lot more people have mobile phones and handheld devices. In fact, statistics show that mobile devices are far more common than computers. And most of these modern devices are capable of surfing the web. iPhones/iPod Touches are leading the way. Increasingly people are wanting information on their handheld devices. It's info how they want it and when they want it. Well, Autism Epicenter is no longer ignoring that part of the population!
Today, I developed Autism Epicenter's mobile website. It's simple, has a clean interface, and gives the basic information about ASD including what it is, how to get help, symptoms, and more.

good evening all.
i have decided to going back to typing in small letters again. just to let you know. it is much easier and i spend so much of my day being grammatically correct. it is nice for a break.
so anyway, it is april. autism awareness month. wow! did you wear blue? did anyone ask you why you were wearing blue? i wore blue and nobody said a thing.
i do not get a chance to watch to much news, but from what i have heard the networks didn't really cover world autism day very well. there were a few small clips; like tossing a bone to a dog.
World Autism Awareness Day
By Shane on Apr 3, 2010 | In Announcements | Send feedback »
It was yesterday. It came and went with little fanfare. I don't know about the other news programs but NBC Nightly News barely acknowledged it was World Autism Awareness Day. At the end of the show Brian Williams said with his serious news voice, "Don't forget - this is World Autism Awareness Day." Yep, that's all they did to help spread awareness. Thanks a lot, NBC! (Put extra sarcasm on that.) The media has a lot of power in this country, and yet NBC focuses their attention on the gossip and dirty laundry and barely gives a nod toward autism. No wonder ASD research is so vastly under funded. No wonder there are so few programs for kids with autism.
